Numerous suggestions were made at the Sacramento Stakeholders meeting 2/25/2009 to scrap the 1992 UPC appendix J as a starting point for the new CA standard, and start somewhere else, like the Arizona model code language.
A show of hands looked to me like maybe 30 in favor of Arizona and five in favor of the UPC.
